The Number 1 Puppy Competition in the Calendar starts on Thursday and Daily Dogs own Kinky One fancies 3 dogs in the Ante Post market including a Nap and Two Each Way bets. He is also confident of getting a couple of Dogs beat in the first round and thinks there are one or two bets.

Below is the draw for the 2010 Monmore Puppy Derby and a Full Preview of the Heats and the Ante Post market will be up when a few firms have gone up, which could be as late as Thursday Morning. Check back here to see an Update before the competition gets under way. Track Record holder Farley Blitz is the likely Ante Post favourite despite some feeling he has a hard draw. Dont forget to post your thoughts in the Forums, Click Forum in the main menu at the top of the page and then register to post. Then clcik the Ante Post Forum and the Puppy Derby thread. Please note the price next to the dogs are MY TISSUES done before the books went up. If some of teh rags seems a little short, then thats fine i wouldnt want to be laying unexposed pups at 33s in one offs.

Heat 1

1 Star Gaze 5/2
2 Pegs Way 6/1
3 Ballymac Rumble 7/2
4 Rockburst Canyon 12/1
5 Farley Blitz 6/4
6 Centurion Wil (w) 14/1

Dream Draw for Star Gaze here, 2 not a railer and goalkeeper here for the railers drawn middle. 1 simply couldnt have been given a better draw. 5 though is the track record holder and actually has a good draw, insides bar 2 go for fence and 5 ran middle from Trap 2 and also won from Trap 4.

NO BET as Farley Blitz is top priced 11/10 with hills. Becomes a strong bet at 7/4

Heat 2

1 Farley Zach 4/1
2 Bower Eagle 5/2
3 Tictac Pacific 10/1
4 Bower Hawk 4/1
5 Rio Venturo 6/4
6 Crown Hawk 10/1

1 is raving and 5 can get the cleanest run here and is a fair bet , several will be slow away 2 could lead inside but would have to to get a run on 5. 1 can chase these home in 3rd and show chasers pace. Chance that Eagle causes mayhem at the bend which lowers confidence a little.

2 Points win Rio Venturo 5/2 hills and bet 365

Heat 3

1 Saint Jack 10
2 Directors Spur 5/1
3 Lenson Duo 3/1
4 Droopys Ruso 5/2
5 Direct Dan(m) 5/1
6 Millies Hawk(m) 3/1

2 has shown nothing but the trainer feels will improve fitness but has to overcome tardy starts, 3s introduction was ok last week and gets to the bend smartly. 4 looked to refuse last time behind star gaze despite that kidding it along from 3/4 Ruso hared up to it twice and had every chance run in and looked to gear down to me. 5 wont mind the draw but is another slow away but does run on and could miss any aggro and qualify. 6 surprised everyone last run and won in a smart time and was quick to the bend and will have its supporters.

1 Point win Lenson Duo 4/1 bet 365

Heat 4

1 Kinda Close 10/1
2 Proud Patsy 7/2
3 Ballymac Ace 13/8
4 Blonde Button 4/1
5 Jaytee Ray 6/1
6 Vatican Hamish(m) 4/1

Horrible draw for 1 here wants the other side not rail and doesnt look good enough, however its mental to right off the trainer who has said the dogs are still getting fit. 2 is very pacey and has been running well, was down in A5 in december here and knows the track. 3 isnt the strongest dog in the world but is running well was kidded out of a win when well drawn last time by one of the competition fancies and goes up fast. 4 is all EP and goes rails and has some good runs at romford in its book despite being held up. 5 who knows what this can achieve but has been running well in Puppy Races and 6 went up in a flying 4.08 last time and has a great draw is it this class?

0.5 Point win Proud Patsy 5/1 hills

Heat 5

1 Bim Bam Boozle 5/1
2 Speed Lee 10/1
3 Blue Artisan 3/1
4 Farley Totti 7/2
5 Up For Sam  6/4
6 Cons Up(m) 4/1

1 will be happier on the fence, 2 goes middle and has had no run twice, 3 had a nice introduction and totti will hate this draw and would be one to take on heavily in the heat at a shortish price. 5 is a talking dog whos been uber rapid round sandy lane. 6 wont mind the draw but is it good enough? If 5 is too short  a lay of 4 would be the call based on the draw it simply goes straight left and will stay there trying to run through dogs to get to the fence.

LAY Farley Totti at 3/1 or under for the heat to lose 3 points (9/4 with hills)

Heat 6

1 Little Hawk  5/2
2 Little Sensation 7/4
3 Final Xaar  8/1
4 Swift Planet 8/1
5 Ballymac William 4/1
6 Rio Tornado(m) 5/1

2 has a nice draw here as stays off the fence 4 goes rails from 2 so wont be happy so far from the fence. 6 has ok draw at least it runs middle but again is it good enough.

2 Points win Little Sensation 7/2 bet 365, far too big for me

Ante Post views are on the other Article on the main page of www.dailydogs.co.uk . Good luck with your bets and as always lets hope every one of them comes back fit and well. I cannot wait for one of the highlights of the year to start.
