7.40 480m Rev Counter returns to Nottingham after his Eclipse triumph last year. This looks a wide open contest however and there is plenty of value to be had in backing Trap 2 Farloe Rooney. This trip might stretch the stamina of David Pruhs charge but the going should be fast enough to get our selection home and the dog has won over this trip.
8.00 680m Peterborough Cesarewitch winner Cuil Magic (T3) ticks all the boxes in this contest. Feora Marie will provide stiff competition but is probably a fraction short of the class required at this level. Carbarns Tom lacks the speed to take this, whilst Droopys Lisa might get left behind early and won't want the going too fast. Safa Prince has progressed nicely and might go well at a big price.
8.15 500m Its difficult to see beyond Lochbo Meg and Vigorous Pat here. The forecast is recommended but a small bet on Vigorous Pat (T3) is the win call. With a clear run at Nottingham, Geraldine Kovacs inmate has run 1,1,1,1,2,1,2,1 - an awesome record - and probably has a length in hand here.
8.35 305m The sprint looks a competitive affair but there is a real lack of early pace in this field. Perrys Tango (T3) has been gettnig his trapping right of late and can provide a pillar to post success for Lorraine Sams.
8.50 480m This looks a tough call with few of the dogs having any Nottingham experience. However there looks to be good prices to be had fo Traps 3,5, & 6. A combination forecast is recommended. T3 Perrys Corleone might just struggle to get home but should still be on the scene late doors. T5 Pond Astronaut has some very sound form, whilst the selction is Trap 6 Bubbly Legend. The Romford raider impressed in a trial spin here last week and can benefit from the experience.
9.10 500m A really cracking contest but it looks the sensible option to side with Charlie Lister and Affleck Elite (T6). The dog is in the form of it's life and a repeat of his effort here on 7th July will be enough. The only concern is the trap 6 draw but the selection possesses awesome early and can escape around the first bend unscathed.
9.25 730m A fine staying event and every effort has been made to find Flying Winner's (T4) achillis heal but there does not appear to be one. An uninspiring selection but there is no getting past this dogs quality. An impressive 30.54 trial over Nottinghams 500m confirms the well being of Chris Lunds kennel star.
9.45 500m (Select Stakes) Can the Lady make it three on the trot? A recent trial here suggests she has retained her ability. However this is a hot contest and I think this will be one race too far. Barnfield On Air is a worthy favorite and loves trap 4 but at 2/1 is too short to play. Ninja Jamie has trialled well here but finds trouble all too often. Droopys Carvalho and Bubbly Totti are worthy of their places in the field but will probably come up just short. This leaves Farloe Reason (T2) - whilst not having a competitive run for a while, Charlie Listers Blue Riband winner is pure class and has been kept ticking over nicely of late. Arguable the fastest dog in the field and should beat Ninja Jamie to the first bend whilst also denying Barnfield on Air on his outside.
A cracking meeting - good luck.
